Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves using small needles to create microscopic holes in the skin. By creating these small holes, microneedling stimulates the skin's natural healing process and promotes the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are proteins that contribute to the skin's structure and elasticity.

Here is an overview of how microneedling works:

Preparation: The area of the skin to be treated is thoroughly cleaned to ensure hygiene.

Needle insertion: A microneedling device with small needles is used to create controlled microscopic injuries in the top layer of the skin. The depth of the needles may vary depending on the treatment needs.

Skin response: The small injuries stimulate the skin's natural healing process, leading to increased production of collagen and elastin to repair and strengthen the skin.

Recovery: The skin's recovery period varies, but many experience minimal downtime and can return to their normal activities relatively quickly.

The results of microneedling can include improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles and fine lines, as well as increased radiance and smoothness of the skin. Microneedling is also used to treat scars, pigmentation issues, and other skin concerns.

The time it takes to see results from microneedling can vary between individuals. Some individuals may notice improvements in skin texture and appearance after the first treatment, while others may require multiple sessions to see significant changes. Typically, it takes several weeks to several months before the full benefits of microneedling become apparent, as the skin needs time to regenerate and produce new collagen. Consistency in following a recommended treatment plan and proper care after the procedure can contribute to more effective and long-lasting results. It's important to consult with a qualified skincare specialist to determine the expected timeframe based on your specific skin concerns and the microneedling method used.

The level of pain during microneedling can vary from person to person. Generally, microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure, and many individuals tolerate it well with minimal discomfort. The sensation is often described as a mild tingling or pricking feeling. Discomfort can be influenced by factors such as the depth of the needles, the specific area being treated, and individual pain tolerance.

To increase comfort, topical numbing creams or gels are often applied before the procedure to minimize any potential pain or discomfort. It's important to communicate openly with the skincare specialist performing the microneedling so they can adjust the treatment according to your comfort level.

After the procedure, some individuals may experience temporary redness or mild irritation, which typically subsides within one or two days. Overall, microneedling is considered a well-tolerated and effective cosmetic procedure for many people.

Yes, you can use microneedling for beard growth. Microneedling can be an effective way to promote beard growth by stimulating hair follicles and increasing blood circulation in the area. By using small needles, microscopic holes are created in the skin, which can increase collagen production and promote healthy hair growth.

Before starting microneedling for beard growth, it's important to consider a few factors:

Hygiene: Ensure that the microneedling tool and treatment area are properly cleaned to avoid infections.

Technique: Use the correct technique and pressure to avoid unnecessary irritation or damage to the skin.

Products: Consider using recommended products, such as serums with growth factors, to optimize results.

Aftercare: Follow post-treatment care routines carefully to minimize any potential side effects and promote healthy healing.

If you're unsure about how to perform microneedling for beard growth optimally, it may be wise to consult with a professional skincare specialist for advice and guidance.

Results may be felt after just one treatment, but for longer-lasting results, repeated treatments are recommended, typically 2-5 treatments (more for more extensive issues) with 6-8 week intervals depending on the treatment indication. The need for the number of treatments and the final result depends on individual factors.

Immediately after the treatment, mild redness may be observed, and some individuals may experience the following reactions after microneedling, depending on the depth of treatment:

Up to 24 hours: mild redness, slight swelling 1-2 days: slight tingling, slight dryness and tightening 2-3 days: slight flaking in some, but not all 3-4 days: skin may feel very dry Approximately one week after treatment: fully restored and normal skin function

On the same day as your treatment, it is crucial to protect the skin from bacteria:

Do not touch the treated area, avoid contact with pets and dirty environments Avoid showering and bathing on the treated area on the same day. The day after, the skin can be cleansed gently. Use clean towels. Do not use makeup for the first day after treatment/12 hours Clean glasses and mobile phones with surface disinfection Change pillowcases

48 hours (two days) after the treatment, avoid the following:

Direct UV exposure (sun or tanning beds). Always use sunscreen, even on a cloudy day Intense physical exercise Hot baths, jacuzzis, or saunas Swimming pools/chlorinated water or outdoor swimming Other skin treatments or aesthetic procedures Self-tanning products Tattooing, coloring, or waxing in/on the treated area

Do not use products containing AHA, BHA, or PHA acids, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, alcohol, or hydroquinone for at least one week after the treatment.

In addition:

Avoid sun exposure and use high SPF throughout the treatment course. This applies to all more intensive skin treatments to achieve the best possible long-term results. You can apply makeup the day after, but we recommend waiting until the skin is no longer sensitive, which may take a few days in some cases. Provide moisture and soothing skincare the week after treatment to help the skin recover.

Carefully follow the instructions given by the practitioner and do not use any other products than those prescribed before and after the treatment. Contact the clinic if unexpected reactions occur or if you have any questions or concerns.

The skin is a perishable commodity, and one must continuously stimulate and support it to achieve the best long-term effect. Home care products are recommended for the best results.
